With so many companies using Instagram, and many people on the platform interacting with them, there was a desire from our business community to do more. So we listened. And, after hundreds of interviews with businesses, three key needs became clear—stand out, get insights and find new customers.
On Instagram’s new business profiles, you can choose how you want your customers to get in touch with you: call, text or email, just by having them tap the contact button. Also, if your business has a location, your followers will be able to get the directions on how to get there. The business profile also will give you access to insights and will provide the ability of promotion. Best part? It is all free!
Finally, we’ll have insights! For so long Instagram users have been paying external applications like Icono Square to get the analytics for their Instagram accounts. Don’t get me wrong, Icono Square is a great tool, especially after its latest update to the PRO version, but if what you wanted was your basic insights for free (Facebook and Twitter style), now you’ll be able to get them as well.
Instagram analytics will provide information on who your followers are, their age and location, and the reach and impressions of your posts… all from within the mobile app!
Business Profiles, insights and new ways of promotion - The new Instagram tools for business. Share on XLast but not least, businesses will be able to promote well-performing posts as ads right in the app. Until now, the only feature available was promoting a post through the Facebook platform. Now this process will be easier! Simply by choosing a post already shared, you’ll be able to boost the post and get a higher reach based on your budget, targeting a specific audience. If you are already boosting your posts on Facebook, you’ll be familiar with the system. Again, all of these features will be available within the mobile app!
Are you excited about these tools? It is incredible how Instagram was conceived in 2010 with the purpose of allowing people to share their photos and add filters to those digital pictures, giving them an analog style that only instant cameras could do at the time.
These tools will be available in the coming months. United States, Australia, and New Zealand are first in the beta phase, and will be available in all other regions by the end of the year.
